
ANGKOON ANUWONG
Dr Angkoon Anuwong, MD, FRCST, FACS is now a Chief, Minimally Invasive and Endocrine Surgery Division, Department of Surgery, Police General Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand. He graduated from Chiang Mai University, Thailand. He obtained his surgical training and completed fellowships in minimally invasive surgery at Rajavithi Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, robotic and laparoscopic colorectal surgery at Korea University Anam Hospital, South Korea, bariatric - metabolic & minimally invasive surgery at University of Minnesota, USA and endoscopic thyroidectomy at The First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, China. Now he serves as laparoscopic surgeon and also a Program Director, Minimally Invasive Surgery Division, Department of Surgery, Police General Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand.Dr. Anuwong's clinical research has focused on minimally invasive surgery especially NOTES, thyroid & parathyroid surgery. He is one of the pioneer in transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy (TOETVA) & parathyroidectomy (TOETPVA). He has the world's largest series of transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy, now more than 2000+ cases to date.
ENRIQUE MERCADER CIDONCHA
Dr. Enrique Mercader is a specialist in General and Digestive System Surgery, and in Endocrine Surgery.
He is currently a Researcher at the Gregorio Marañón Institute for Biosanitary Research. Immunophysiology Laboratory and collaborating Professor Teaching University Complutense of Madrid.
FARES BENMILOUD
Dr Fares Benmiloud is an Endocrine Surgeon, in Marseilles, France. His main fields of research are the exploration of the different modalities of fluorescence imaging and the evaluation of their potential impact on surgeons' performance and patient outcomes.
FRÉDÉRIC TRIPONEZ
Frédéric Triponez finished his medical school in Geneva and specialized in endocrine surgery, spending one year in Lille, France and one year in San Francisco. In 2005 he developed the endocrine surgery unit in Geneva, making it the biggest center for endocrine surgery in Switzerland, he was appointed head of department of Thoracic and Endocrine Surgery at the University Hospitals of Geneva in 2013 and full professor in the Faculty of Medicine of Geneva. His current areas of research relate to the development of innovative techniques to preserve the parathyroid function during thyroid and parathyroid surgery, aiming at decreasing the rate of post-thyroidectomy hypoparathyroidism.
JORDI VIDAL FORTUNY
El Dr Jordi Vidal Fortuny, finaliza sus estudios de medicina en Lleida en el año 2001. Decide de realizar su formación post-universitaria en Suiza, dónde se formará primeramente en Cirugía General, acabando por una formación en Cirugía Endocrina en el Hospital Universitario de Ginebra. El Dr Vidal Fortuny, juntamente con el equipo de Ginebra, desarrollarán, de forma pionera, técnicas de imagen intraoperatoria basadas en la fluorescencia paratiroidea para mejorar los resultados de la cirugía tiroidea y paratiroidea. Actualmente, su actividad principal se desarrolla en clínica privada, en los dos grupos mayoritarios en Suiza, Hirslanden y Swiss Medical Network, manteniendo un puesto como cirujano “consultant” en el Hospital Universitario de Ginebra.
JOSE LUÍS MUÑOZ NOVA

Special focus on hyperparathyroidism and neuroendocrine tumors, but also with active research on Graves' disease and the usefulness of angiography in thyroid surgery

MARCO DEMARCHI
Dr. Marco Stefano Demarchi was born in Milan, Italy. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Milan, Italy. His residency was accomplished in Switzerland, before in Lugano and then at Geneva. After the specialization in General Surgery, he focused his interest in endocrine surgery and he completed his training with a fellowship at the Lyon University Hospitals - France.Dr. Demarchi has four years’ experience in endocrine surgery, with special interest in fluorescence guided surgical procedures.In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Demarchi is involved in many research projects and actively publish articles in the field of Endocrine Surgery. Dr. Demarchi is a member of the European Society Of Endocrine Surgeons and is in charge of pre- and post-graduate medical teaching at the university hospital of Geneva. Dr. Demarchi resides in Geneva, (CH) with his wife, and his son Tommaso.
PABLO MORENO LLORENTE
Dr. Pablo Moreno Llorente was born in Madrid, earned his medical degree at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).
Completed his Residency in General Surgery at Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge (HUB) in Barcelona (Spain) where he worked first as a general surgeon and since 2000 to present, as Endocrine Surgeon.
He is Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Barcelona (UB) and was the National Coordinator of the Spanish Section of Endocrine Surgeons from the Spanish Association of Surgeons. He is also member of AAES and ESES.
His field of interest is focused on Thyroid Cancer, minimally invasive surgery, fluorescence in endocrine surgery and Innovation.
He has performed CME in several hospitals around the world as: Hospedale di Sta Chiara (Pisa, Italy), MSKCC (NY, USA), University Wittemberg in Halle/Sale (Germany), Mount Sinai (NY, USA), Police General Hospital (Bangkok, Thailand) and Queen Mary Hospital (Hong Kong).
He has been a pioneer in the management of thyroid-parathyroid surgery on ambulatory basis as well as in in Minimally Invasive Surgery techniques, being the first surgeon who did transaxillary and transoral endoscopic approach to thyroid (TOETVA) in Spain.
He regularly organizes courses on Locally Advanced Thyroid Cancer (43 editions) and, in recent years, he has been awarded several times for his clinical research in the field of endocrine surgery.
To date he has over 80 peer-review publications and has written 25 book chapters.
QUAN-YANG DUH
Dr. Quan-Yang Duh is Professor of Surgery and Chief of Section of Endocrine Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and Attending Surgeon at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, San Francisco. He obtained Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University and MD from UCSF. As an endocrine surgeon, Dr. Duh specializes in surgery for tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands, as well as endocrine pancreas and gastrointestinal tumors.Dr. Raman Velayudhan is the Coordinator of the Vector Ecology & Management Unit at the World Health Organization's (WHO) Department for the Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases.
SCHELTO KRUIJFF
Prof. Dr. Schelto Kruijff is an endocrine surgeon working at the University medical Center of Groningen (UMCG)
After his training in the Netherlands, he was trained at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney Australia.
Currently, he has focused on the use of fluorescence is endocrine surgery.
